Healthy Home Inspection
What is a "Healthy Home Inspection"?
It's the most intense home inspection that covers not only safety and structural issues on a home but all the related health issues associated with homes. There are over 400 items that are inspected along with sampling for the lab for health issues. This is not a get all the results the next day inspection, it will take up to nine days to get all the results. This is due to lab testing requirements. We will have to return to the house 48 hours after completing the initial inspection and testing to retrieve a small canister that is part of the test. And we may have to return or reschedule an inspection due to weather conditions as many of the tests have very strict guidelines that must be followed to perform an accurate test.
So what gets tested?
We perform a basic home inspection or what some call a normal home inspection along with a mold screening inspection, radon sampling and water testing. We also test for lead base paints on homes built before 1978. Since the water testing is only offered with the "Healthy Home Inspection" these are the items tested for:
- Alkalinity
- Bacteria (Total Coliform, E Coli)
- Clarity
- Chorine
- Color
- Copper
- Hardness
- Iron
- Lead
- Nitrate
- Nitrite
- Total Nitrate/Nitrite
- PH
